This was the first time for Ukraine to be a part of global program Ship for World Youth Leaders, so we didn’t have the right to fail – we had to arrange the best party ever! Since the delegation of Ukraine was formed, we have started to work on the national presentation. We put a lot of effort to work on it because we felt our responsibility of being the 1st Ukrainian SWYers, so we wanted to make a great impression on people. Many of outstanding personalities helped us to make our performance stand up from the crowd.
We had to present our traditions and culture right after the Japanese delegation, but because of influenza preventive measures our activities were postponed for a week, so we had enough time to work on it. I think that the power to our Ukrainian celebration gave the fact we have finally won over the disease and were missing the party so much. After several days of influenza prevention, we finally were allowed to continue the program.
So what were the main points which made our party exciting and enriched the knowledge about Ukraine:
-
Bright and dynamic performance.
-
Dress code in national colors.
-
Traditional Ukrainian games and various contest.
-
Food & Drinks. We distributed our main soup “Borsh”, some sausages and national drinks.
-
Photo Zone.
-
Dances! The more dancing music is better ❤
-
The main ingredient of successful party on board was the following: perfect company of amazing people from Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Kenya, Egypt, India, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand, and Japan. Those incredible people could enrich every single party and make it unforgettable.
You definitely made a real party, people look happy, wonderful pictures!

To be honest, to me colors in Ukrainian flag convey vitality and happiness! I don’t know what they actually intend to mean, though. 🙂

That’s great to hear =) The blue color means the sky and the yellow – the fields, cos Ukraine is one of the largest exporter of the wheat abroad.

Great to know this, Lidiia. India too is a great consumer of wheat.:)
