After Paris and Strasbourg I decided to visit my friend in Lille. I`ve never heard about this city before so I was impressed by the sizes of this place and wonderful architecture.
Lille is the capital of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region in northern France, near the border with Belgium. There are many things to see and enjoy in Lille, so welcome to see the gallery of beautiful French city from my perspective ❤

On the way to the market place in Lille I’ve noticed many of wonderful houses coloured in different colours. I think it makes people be more happy to see this kind of bright doors and windows.
I can say the same about colour and taste variety of cheese) My true love)

Each place in France has it’s own Notre Damme (Cathedral of Virgin Maria). Usually it looks very beautiful designed in old gothic style, but Lille’s Notre Damme is an exception. During the war bomb ruined the front part of the cathedral and what we can see now on the picture below – is how people renovated this cathedral. The back part of it is till has gothic style, but the front is very modernised. This is speciality of Notre Damme de Lille.

It’s pretty historic town. Lovely pictures! Thanks for posting.

I like the last image in particular. Like you I was very surprised by Lille, with the pre-conception of an industrialised town in the north of France. A charming city. MM🍀
