Lviv is a beautiful and ancient city in Western Ukraine, which will take your breath away since you will enter it. There is mysterious atmosphere surrounded by wonderful architecture and historical monuments .
Personally I didn’t like Lviv before December 2013. Later I`ve been several times to Lviv, but I couldn`t find all the beauties and wonders of this city without a good local guide and was unsatisfied – I couldn`t found even the place to eat…
On December 2013 I met a new friend in Lviv with whom we went to Turkey before and I asked her to host me and myMoroccan friend who decided to come to Ukraine for the New Year celebration. By the “lucky chance”, my friend missed his plane and was able to arrive only next day, so Dana, my friend from Lviv made me a date with the city of Lion….
I`ve never seen Lviv like this before, and for this time my heart went to its ancient spirit completely. That was the eve of Christmas which made the city sparkling in the eyes of visitor.

After this, Lviv became like my second home – I could easily get back there for 10 times a year. There are always things to do and explore in Lviv. For instance, there are many of interesting cafes, which could impress you. One of them is “The House of Legends”, where you could explore different mysterious things, like to sit in an old car on the rooftop and to throw a coin from the chimney to the hat of the guy sitting on the other roof. People say if your coin will get into the hat – your wish will come true.

Lviv is beautiful in winter, spring, summer, autumn. If there is a nasty weather you still have a place to go, but if you are lucky and the weather is good for walking you could see many of interesting places.
People here are friendly and creative. There is one backyard where inhabitants of the house made a “museum” of toys. So if you want to have a flashback to the childhood, come and check this one.

Many of my foreign friends say that Lviv is even better than many of famous touristic destinations in Europe. I can agree with them, because you will need a couple of days to explore the city and many of years to understand it`s mystery which you can smell in the air here.
There are many interesting buildings in Lviv, especially Churches. They have Catholic and Orthodox, but each of them will gladly open their doors in front of you.

The very city center of Lviv called – the Market Square. Here you can find many of shops, cafes, and just places to sit and to relax. In the middle of the Market Square there is a City Hall, called Ratusha and you can go inside of it to observe the city from the top.
I just wonder if you could see a horse on the roof? I told that people in Lviv are creative, isn’t it?

There are many of amusements for locals and for visitors on the Market Square. You can find different performances, sellers of handmade goods, etc here.

The beauty of Lviv is not only on the streets, but you can find it inside as well. Many of the Lviv`s houses are masterpieces. If you will go inside you will observe something interesting.

There is one more outstanding place – the Opera House. It`s a place of art and interesting Legend about it`s muse.

You simply can walk through Lviv`s streets and keep this amazing feeling that wonderland is here…

One of the touristic places in Lviv is the “High Castle”. It supposed to be castle here, but now there is only the observation point where you can see the whole city. It is especially stunning to meet the sunrise here, what I’ve experienced last summer)

Once visiting Lviv, be ready to leave your heart there, because Lviv will give it`s heart to You ❤

WHY IS LVIV KNOW AS THE CITY OF THE LION?

In our language Lviv – sounds like a lion. There was a Duke who`s name was Lev (Lion) so the city is named after him.
